Model: Agnia-185

Author: 3DLadnik

3D Printer: Lad-1.0

Nozzle: 0.3 mm

Layer: 100 μm

Post-processing: grinding, chemical polishing with ethyl acetate.

Coloring: acrylic enamels, acrylic lacquer.

To determine the limits of my 3D Printer and its fine-tuning, I prefer to print complex models. At the same time is important to have an opportunity not only to play with the Printer capabilities, but for an aesthetic pleasure.

Set tasks for printing:

  1. It is often complained that the support of extended areas, especially with small slopes, is poorly removed and spoils the surface of the model, which requires a lot of work on cleaning them, fine-tuning and correcting damaged areas. Consequently, the model should have extended sections with various slopes.

  2. Some difficulties are caused by the printing of small elements with a minimum amount of material in the printed layer, beginning with the support or ending with a “dot”. The fingers of the human hand, not folded together, but in a free, accent position, are a good example of such elements. Consequently, the model should have such elements.

  3. The task is difficult, so let the model be inspiring and well-worthy of all the efforts. It could be a dancer. Bright, in an flying emotional state, all in motion, just like fire. I named it Agnia.

Agniya - fiery, bright, pure (from the word Agni rus. fire, Sk. अग्नि - «fire»).

The surface of the face saturated with fine details is located with a minimum deviation from the vertical to prevent damage to its supports, while the figure is in an inclined position. Because of this, the figure touches the printer's platform only at one point, everything else is printed on the supports, and in contact with the model surface supports located under the most diverse angles, including those close to the horizontal.

The fingers begin with the supports, and the index finger of the left hand completes the composition.

Additional complexity is introduced by thin shells of freely flowing clothing of the model.

Print result:

The default print speed is 40 mm / s.

The outer perimeters speed is 20 mm / s.

Print temperature 240 degrees C.

Material: uncolored ABS from #DASplast

Plastic consumption 70 grams.

Printing time 12 hours.

Figure immediately after removing the supports.

Figure height with stand 210 mm.

Weight 39 grams

Supports were removed in 10 ... 15 minutes. It is seen that the damage to the surface is minor and can easily be repaired with further processing.

Агния4.JPG

Figure after puttying, grinding and polishing.

10 ... 20% solution of ABS in ethyl acetate was used for puttying and polishing.

The loaded joint of the model with the stand is reinforced with a pin of rigid steel wire 1 mm in diameter. For its (the rigid steel wire pin) installation, while printing, have been made channels starting within the foot and continuing through the calf of the model's leg.
